First, lemme say what a fantastic program this is. In all the modeling programs I've worked with (and there've been plenty) Sculptris is the most natural flowing organic model creation tool I've ever touched.
Now that I've stroked a few egos...
I created and painted a head model, saved out the main SC1 file, exported an OBJ and saved the texmap out as a PNG. I wasn't done with the file but when I came back to it, the SC1 crashes the software.
I'm assuming its just a corrupt file, because I can load it back into the sculpting mode, just not paint.
The problem is that when I go into paint, assuming a new UV and load up the PNG via the Open Texmap button, the UVs no longer match up.
Am I hosed or am I missing a step?
[EDIT] I should also mention that when I open the project file and choose to go to paint, it crashes on "Step 5: finishing up (60%)" in case that helps.
