So, I was being naughty and tried to hack the file format. I want to write an importer/exporter for Blender. I know... I know... I should have asked first, but the little devil on my left shoulder had a much better argument than the little angel on my right shoulder.
I failed. The format seems simple enough and some things are as I suspect. However, there are some issues I cannot seem to get past. Namely, sometimes the vertex and face counts are greater by one or two than what I count in the app. Also, there appears to be unknown data after the face count and before the vertex list. I'm not sure what it is or how long it is, so it makes it hard to extract the vertices.
What I was expecting and apparently is the case is that only half of the model is stored. Makes sense for symmetry reasons.
Anyway... Now I'm doing what I should have done in the first place... Beg...
PLEASE, DrPetter! Please can I get this information?
Seriously though, I think a direct importer and exporter would be a good thing to have in Blender. I'd like to try anyway. If you don't want this to happen, I'll drop it.
Would be great to have SC1 support in Blender import/export too, would certainly make the Sculptris->Blender->Scuptris->Blender workflow nicer, as converting for OBJ import/export sometime seems to have some side effect in Sculptris under some specific conditions (the "ghost" )
