Hey. I'm new to the forums and to modeling in general. I have absolutely no official modeling experience or certification. I've tried using 3DS Max for a bit and found it extremely difficult to use (especially the material editor).
Found sculptris via the recommendation of a friend of my brother. I have to say it's a brilliant program. Very easy to use, with extremely pleasing results.
I am into something a little different from most folks here. I am an old dog (about 60) trying to learn new tricks. In particular I built a CNC machine for wood and other material carvings and looking for an "easy", and "cheap" way to do bas relief models. I own a program called Aspire put out by Vectric which allows some modeling capability and allows for toolpath creation and it does accept 3D OBJ files which Sculptris can export.
Looking forward to getting Sculptris to work (my video card only handles OpenGL 1.2) and the possibility of creating models that can be carved in wood.
Hey all! My name is Desko. I found about Sculptris few days ago in a GTA forum. First i watched a video about sculptris and i was thinking "Woow, it looks so easy" and unlike many other stuff it not only looks easy but its also easy to work with. ;D Thank you for releasing it Dr. Petter!
