Nice mike, it's a little heavy tho and feels like it takes away from the piece for me Maybe try softening it out on the larger round areas and leaving it heavy around the creased areas?

Right you are... tired now... (3am here)... will look again in the morning
..though the matcaps don't have ambient occlussion or shadow, so a render will be less "harsh"

Good point, and SSS makes a huge difference, just look at proper mapped lips with and without SSS

You have some nice thing in here michalew. You may consider adding more depth to eyelids in fat man - just mask eyes - and use grab to move it in. And rhino rules . Any way I got question - did you tried resurfacing any of your sculptures in blender? If yes, then did you managed to bake bump map from original mesh to new one, with new UV?

I haven't retopo'd in blender and baked yet... I have several plans should that prove difficult!
Will post my findings when I do it!

this is the first one in this thread to be imported... started in z-brush ages ago... imported to blender... massivey re-worked..... now in sculptris, poly reduced, cleaned up and then detailed again.... I'm now working on the fine details in paint mode!

in progress 3/4: 4k map scintillates too much and my graphics card on this laptop won't allow more than 4x AA...

It weird that you, michaelw, struggled so much witch last one... Couldn't you just finish him in Zbrush?

Thanks black viking! It weird that you, michaelw, struggled so much witch last one... Couldn't you just finish him in Zbrush? nah, i started it about a year and a half ago.... then lost interest/time because of contracts I was doing... one year on and blender got a massive upgrade to performance with its sculpt tools, so I ported the model to blender and re-worked it as a test really, to see if blender could compete as a "pro grade" sculpt tool... BTW, blender sculpt is great if you know how blender works! and with the many "Google summer of code" projects improving sculpt it's getting to be a real competitor now¬ I never did finish the model though and got caught up in the whole sculptris thing... I could have taken the blender version back to z-brush for finishing, or finished it in blender in development builds... but I'm just enjoying sculptris so much right now... so not so much a struggle, rather a prolonged road test of different apps!
