Sculptris doesn't load properly when I run from start menu.
Solution: Create a shortcut in the Sculptris folder by right clicking the sculptris.exe and choosing create shortcut. Rename the shortcut if desired. (I usually rename mine to simply Sculptris) Right click the shortcut and choose pin to start menu. Sculptris should now start up correctly.
If you choose to set the icon for the shortcut, you may need to unpin and repin for it to update, or restarting windows should also do the trick
This can cause start up issue with Sculptris as several of the core files are created by Sculptris when it is first initiated. A space in the path can, in certain cases, cause these files not to be created.
The first recourse is to make sure you have the most up to date drivers for your video card. If you still get the error with the most recent driver, the case may be that your Video Card simply does not support the level of OpenGL required in order to run Sculptris. You should contact the manufacturer of your video card to confirm. If you find that the video card driver does not support OpenGL, a video card upgrade may be the only solution to the issue.
I just started using Sculptris 2 days ago, and while it worked pretty flawlessly for a day & a half, I got the crashing on startup today. The cause seems to be added in brush textures and / or materials.
Once I removed those, and started from a clean setup, it worked OK.
FYI: Before I got the startup crash, I had been working on, saving and loading a model. After I added the textures and material files available on this forum it crashed a few times when I tried to load a model.
