I would say "frightning and intimidating", but in a very admiring way! Just watch out that your machine won't melt at some point...looks like some insane amount of geometry by now, too!?

huge cheers for the encouraging comments.
the angel is 1.4mil but its just as chuggy as my demon that's 2.4mil polys. mainly when i mask the wings though to work on them separately in scene.
I'm tempted to go lower but i don't want to lose the detail in the creases. I'm going to try mapping out the texture manually too, since I've pretty much forgotten how to do it comfortably, then retry the sculptris paint tool properly.
Edit: ohh yeah, my Wacom busted so i modeled the whole damn angel by mouse.... and didnt remember till now.... thats how user friendly this damn program is!!! i love it, Theres barely a difference compared to my demon which was all wacom.

lol. and it is so well done... Have to say I am a mouse addict, so all my stuff is modelled with the mouse. I have a wacom, but the workflow is easier for me with a mouse, how wierd is that?...lol

Bloody impressive.
As for retaining detail while reducing polys: MASK.
Also, you can hide geometry to improve update speed since it renders points, not polys or shade. Hold down H and select object to hide, or H + L drag over area to hide.

@ mermaid creasing quickly and drawing quick rough shapes are very useful with wacom i think, other than that the lazy brush works a treat.
@ zipline yeah, ive had interesting situations when i masked my model to reduce polys it sort of ignored the mask (but i did hand paint the mask instead of ctrl - mask it the whole object) i use hiding already, but i had no idea you can hide specific objects, with H+L, great tip!!

Just a quick update, i still don't feel comfortable detailing and texturing in sculptris so i had a quick little test run. did a lot of facial study before finishing this dudes head i wonder if anyone can tell who he is lol, if not i guess that means i gotta keep on practicing. EDIT: Almost forgot, thanks to fixor for background and materials. drpetter.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=wipsculpt&action=display&thread=909&page=2bloody epic stuff mate. made my work really stand out. Hi matey! I like the face really much, what are your steps to go from the sculpt to the detailed bumped face? What alphas do you use?
And yeah it does look like Angelina Jolie! No worries about that!
