Yup, he's a design and style wonder and he had been greatly influencial to me through the movie, actually, as I hadn't seen is work until far, far later. Such beautiful style. I think I watched a making of many years ago, when I finally saw more of his work.
Well, more than anything: THANK YOU ALL, I'm always happy to get some sugar, confirming my own excitement, really. Don't get me wrong, I'm not celebrating myself here, but have real gratitude, if I was allowed to pull of something that's so much fun the second it is done after having focused so hard on it. Granted, it probably didn't take long in the grand scheme of things, but to me anything above 2 hours is really long and the 10 something hours this guy kept me on high gear (with some interruptions) were intense, but very delightful, too.
Wow, very cool! I tried to achieve this snake skin yesterday but my results were very poor in comparison. Were you successful in creating the skin all around the body without lines and overlays? How? ;D
Outstanding first entry. Just after 15h? it seems like there is already a winner
Hahahaha, thanks Knacki! Yeah, the snakeskin was an unusual fun for me, as I normally had any kinds of tedium, but somehow I just used clay, turned off strength and on size and went at it only where I knew it was seen, lazy as I am. Later I eased in and out with textured bumps. The main scales are all nicely modeled on (lol, well, kinda, counting on the masses to do the trick).
I think this challenge is going to rock tremendously. However, I'm also afraid it will really split the group again a tiny bit, compared to the outstanding assortment that came together in the abstract challenge. That would be worth a little exhibition!
You, though, will rock the world out of the chimera challenge, I have no doubt! Same goes for a whole bunch of us, but it takes either the style or raw understanding of form and realism. Anything inbetween gets a bit bumpy and anything without either will be a mess. So, yeah, tough gig for some... brilliant sandbox for others!
Ahhh, first and second place is ready. Unfortunately I am out of this challenge. I have a half ready animal - no time for more.
Anyway, thanks for tip taron!
Your catlady insect, taron, she is incredible. I can feel the soft fur change to soft skin while my eyes follow the bodyparts. Gravity is working where it should. A pleasure to look at. Only the horse tail is just 98%, which means double as good as most would do in sculptris
Damm, that kitty look fine. Her right boob look kinda squarish... but maybe because of perspective. But seriously great suculpt, textures and composition. These previous 2 images loads forever. I would suggest tinypic for hosting images. much faster imo. I wish they load today...
