Post Alpha Textures here if you've made some cool ones.
Just attach the image and maybe an additional shot of a model illustrating how the texture looks.

Here is One: ![]() Alien Head For Sculptris.jpg[/img] It doesn't work very well, but repeated use gives a fractal-like, spiked impression. Like Below: ![]() Alien Planet.png[/img] ![]() Consumed Planet.png[/img] Attachments:

Nice Alien, You can avoid overlaps of the single projections by increasing BrushSpacing in the options menue over 100% I posted that already on another topic but here seems to be a better place now: Here are my Linebrushes meant to make a continues stroke in sculpt mode on a dense mesh area: drpetter.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=downloadattachmentpage&board=sculptris&thread=233&post=3195Settings: -detail slider to min, -activate Airbrush and lazy mode (upper left) -set brushspacing to min. (Options menue) -directional enabled

Whenever I try to use any of these when sculpting I get rough looking "square" indentions? Other than pretty simple brush falloff shapes, the alphas are more for bump and normal mapping, or at least that's my understanding

youre right there, useing alpha brushtips works best but you do get a good result with complex masking as well if you subdivide the area a lot first you can use the reduce brush with RMB this will divide specific areas very accurate

I just downloaded some of the textures here and placed them on the texture folder inside sculptris, however inside the new brush window i can only see the default .pngs, for some reason any new png i drop inside the folder is not being read by the app, what am I doing wrong? thanks in advance

Hi Max;
The Texture folder is just a storage container. In order to use the Textures, you need to click the either the Brush (in Sculpt mode) or the Brush / Texture in paint mode.
