Guys, PLEASE DON'T POST ANY IMAGES LARGER THAN 1024 PIXELS WIDE INTO A THREAD! It's really ugly and difficult to read any other post showing up in it, as you may already notice by trying to read what I'm writing here! <HINT, HINT> Just make smaller versions or stack them high, but then think really, really hard, if it is necessary to post them so big. I can't really imagine anyone is planning on printing them or anyone underappreciates your mastery! Hope you don't mind me begging you!? Here are my basic materials. They all work together as they are from within the same environment so you can get some really nice consistency in your substances. ATTACHED YOU WILL FIND THE ZIP... Attachments:

While I do believe zbrush has it's own format for mats, you could easily do a screen capture (print screen) and paste into your fave 2d editor and just crop those spheres that they show on the page

Are there any tutorials on how to make materials?

Not yet. We are going to be opening a tutorial Forum soon.

if I'm not mistaken the tutorial could be summed up with "render a sphere, square dimensions, make sure the sphere takes up the whole image"... there are obviously nuances to it, but that's enough to start.

Yup, you're right on! ;D I thought the same... almost didn't want to even begin spoonfeeding on that end. How hard can it be to open up the folder with the materials, open one of the images and go: HUH? Hmmm...that looks pretty simple!? But, yeah... it's a funny world out there.

Don't mind them mangus, they just forgot what it ws like to be new at it. hehe
A quick way to fiddle with Matballs (Material balls) is just to open your Materials folder in Your Sculptris directory, and open any of the existing ones. (Except White fluff: that broken) Just fiddle around with it, and then save it as a different name. then pop into Sculptris and have a look.
