Just wanted to make it clear that I've uploaded a fixed version that will hopefully eliminate startup crashes and crash caused by opening texture maps. It also adds the ability to copy and paste the colormap, with opacity from the strength slider to blend "history" with the current buffer. It's kind of a crude replacement for layers, in a way. Like the "blend last action" in Photoshop, except you can have multiple actions before you blend it.
The download link is the same.

Dr. Petter:
I've got to say you have truly stuck to your guns and kept Sculptris interface design simple, elegant, powerful and, in short, a complete masterpiece of form following function.
I've never seen anything in the software world that comes close to matching this achievement.
And, you have also succeeded in knowing when to quit adding stuff, (I fully encourage you to stick to your guns regarding this decision). It does everything you set out to make it do, and then some, (for the sake of all of our requests).
Bravo!

OMG, you are absolutely amazing Dr Petter!
I've only played with it for ~20 minutes and the feel of the new Sculptris is a totally professional product. I am so beside myself with nervous energy thinking of things I am going to create with Sculptris. And I just can't believe its so feature rich and only a 3MB app!!!
The custom brushes, the lazy mouse, the masking, hiding selections, the feel of the clay brush, just plain wow! And the kicker is that I can't believe at times that I'm only working on a 50k-100k poly object.
Is there a feature list? Is it in the included instructions?
One of the new gallery screenshots looks like Sculptris now supports multiple objects or discontinuous objects. Is this for real?
Thank you, thank you, thank you!

multiple objects - reality now: if you open a file you will be asked whether to add it to the scene or to start a new one and all will be mapped at once......

Anyone looking to get started in 3D modeling- this is it, this is as easy & intuitive a tool to use as anything you could find. Stop looking & jump in. The program which was already useful to begin with, has all the essential functionality a 3D tool should have AND (here's the revolutionary part) it's easy to use (imagine that?). Dr. Petter puts the power & control in your hands. Kudos Dr. Petter! Now excuse me whilst I model...

Thanks for your hard work ... Sculptris rocks my socks off!!!! Now that it has 1.0 status, is there any way for a Mac port?? Sculptris works like a charm on Parallels Desktop but!! the new painting features doesn't work ... after clicking the button and conversation my models stays bright white ... and I'm not able to paint
Anyway awesome tool!!! Keep it up!

@ porting: let´s see if DrPetter thinks his code is clean enough to do a nice port, when he´s back from 3 week vacation. Guess there´s still some need to clean it up - for tomas did a giant work the last days.
I´m burning to get a MAC port too
