I downloaded Sculptris for my daughter (12). She's pretty good and has many files. I bought her a 3D printer that accepts obj or stl files. However, the only option when we save her work in Sculptris is the Sculptris file format (.sci). This is the same for the old version and the new version we just downloaded as the original didn't have the zlib1.dll file operating properly (this appears to be the file that assigns file extensions). In addition, her files cannot be seen in Windows explorer, they only appear in Sculptris. Also, when using the Sculptris program there are no tools like search or help other than the limited drawing icons and save icons.

Sculptris is a great program, however, it is pretty basic when it comes to bells and whistles. I'm no expert but I don't think there is any way within it to save an .obj file. However, you can import it's files into another free program like Blender and then save it as the file you want.....I think. I've never checked to see if Blender does this but it's worth a shot.... Also, I think this is a dead forum. I joined about a month ago only to realize that hardly anyone ever posts anything new. Welcome aboard!
