Found out about musagi yesterday. Thanks agian DrPetter! :D

Had a bit of fun with it today and ended up with a silly tune.
In the past I have used FT2 and Milkytracker to compose. -not so much chiptunes.

Hope I find the time and focus to make and share some more. :)

So here is the first:

enjoy, cheers

(Also the forum only seems to let me attach files if I qoute some post that already has a attachment?)

NICE! Definitely fits your pseudo, hihi...very depressed rivercrossing there... :o ... ;D
It feels a bit like you're still in the process of adjusting to the minimalism of the sounds, like you're missing the ones you're used to. Once you submit yourself to the nature of it, it's quite amazing how far you can go with it. I mean, I do like to bend it towards me a bit, more than some machines can handle, hehe, but I'm somehow always happiest, if I go with the chip feel.

I've just updated my last tune a little bit and overwrote what you can download in my "little corner..." thread here. Check out "normalhaut". :) ...and to find out just how weird it can get, try "questique"! :D

Those tunes are just great, thanks. Love that voice like quality in the "questique" one!

And yes, still adjusting to the whole thing and having some fun while at it ^^
I have a habit of exploring and not ending up with finished/well structured songs. The one I uploaded was just silly..a hasty pallet rather than a painting hehe.

Thanks for the reply! :)

OH man, tell me about it, I don't think any of my musagi experiments can be called much more than experiments. Even in Sculptris I've yet to make a complete picture. I think it's a common thing, though. Eventually, when inspiration strikes and endurance emerges, we know which tools to have fun with! :D
Thanks, by the way! Yup, that choir was my biggest surprise, actually, mainly because it just worked. Around that time I was truely on fire. I have my ups and downs as most of us, if not all. I think I'm currently on the rise again...but then, who knows.

@taron Yes however your songs I checked till now all seem reasonably finished. :D
In my teens I would always be working on intro's, seldon finish anything. After that it became mainly loops, hehe. Guess loops are kinda finished in themselfs...but not full songs.

Here is a expanded loop I enjoyed making yesterday, bit more happy and minimal:

Could fit a story of someone getting good news and won't shut up about it. :P

I hear you've discovered the beauty of slides, haha! ;D
Yup, sounds very comfortable with itself in a cute way. A good bit of strange drama within, too. The sounds are curiously aggressive and very chiptuney! :D

Cute piece. :)

Some month back i started making some game like tunes.
Can't find half of them but here are some:

http://www.mediafire.com/?t18cg7y2aqrc7ps

http://www.mediafire.com/?mq3mkscqfw4yh7y

^those are smu files
this next one is a *.ogg cause I cant find the smu :P

http://www.mediafire.com/?6zyynxrrdq6wl64

I imagine a side-scrolling platform game. And take the freedom to not be way minimalistic.

Any feedback welcome ^^

Enjoy

I like the good news loop, it's silly!

Cool game tunes, unfortunately my netbook nearly exploded trying to play the SMUs. But the OGG played fine! That one sounded like...jumping around on a steampunk blimp? Yeah, sure, that.

I can't get the very first link to load, it keeps trying to download it, but then just refreshes the page instead. Anybody else having that problem, or is it just me?

Still works for me. I don't really like mediafire my eyes and popup blocker get tired from it, hehe. But at least there is no waiting time.

Uhaah, yes! Very nice stuff. Air Buzz starts off fantastically. After the 33sec mark it asks for some getting used to, but it works quite well again after a few measures. Very atmospherical, really!
The Boss song works, too, while I don't understand the use of the samples, pumping up the songs size beyond the use of the sounds, I think.
They all have a tendency to feel a tiny bit random, but still provide a very functional atmosphere.

As Air Buzz loops about it becomes cooler and cooler. Not unusual, but it's still something worth mentioning. Great stuff!

Air Buss gets a bit dense in plots after 33 seconds indeed. Could have spread the transition.

The samples are in "the boss tune" basically because by then i just found out about sfxr. They are indeed not needed but good fun and endbossy. :)

Random, yeah think generally a real good game tune should have stronger distinctive lead and much less exploration. Hehe i was just having fun with these i guess. ;D

Thanks ^_^

WHOAAAH, VERY cool! Hahaha. Man... I totally thought "what an awesome piano" until it dawn on me that ... ah well, haha. Very cool, man! It runs smooth on my machine, but then it's a monster and my songs caused some tears for some people already and not because of the music itself, hahahaha...

Love it!

I've got a new tune going, too, but it's the opposite of that. It's more like another chip tune again. Anyway, rock on!!! 8-)

Hehe, yesz messed with your instruments. Lot of doubling them with tiny adjustments. So they sound a bit different left from right to create some body to it.

Keem em comming. I like to write more then a loop again soon. ^^

thanks
